It might sound interesting for the first-year PhD students with no experience in Photoshop and/or Illustrator however, I wouldn’t recommend it. It provided too much information in only a few hours and if you don’t really practice what you have learned as soon as possible you just simply forget everything. Also, the course material did not help later on to remember the things that were taught.
I do not see it as negative as Matina and David. For me I had no clue about Illustrator at all when I took the course but shortly afterwards started to use it. Also today I look up certain things in the handout from time to time. Obviously in a 1-day course you will not become an expert, but for me it was a decent starting point. It definitely was not the best course I ever attended, but I could profit from it, and the time investment is not that long. So if you do not know anything about Illustrator but intend to use it soon it can be helpful.
